The Town of Shediac (population 4,892: 2001 census) is a nice little town located in the Southeastern portion of New Brunswick. Well-known for its nearby Parlee Beach and Shediac Lobster festival it is the focal point for the areas triving touristic activities.

The Shediac Area beaches are Canada's finest. Boasting the warmest waters north of the Carolinas and some of the best sailing waters in North America, Shediac offers the best of what summer has to offer.

Shediac is renowned as the Lobster Capital of the World. In Shediac you will find the world's largest lobster. The sculpture, located near the tourism information centre, is very popular with tourist. Lobster plays in an important role in the economy and every year the Town of Shediac holds its Shediac Lobster Festival.
