The Town of Shediac (population 4,892: 2001 census) is a nice little town located in the Southeastern portion of New Brunswick. Well-known for its nearby Parlee Beach and Shediac Lobster festival it is the focal point for the areas triving touristic activities.

Shediac is renowned as the Lobster Capital of the World. In Shediac you will find the world's largest lobster. The sculpture, located near the tourism information centre, is very popular with tourist. Lobster plays in an important role in the economy and every year the Town of Shediac holds its Shediac Lobster Festival.
